Goal

This program aims to enable oncology nurses and other healthcare team members to improve self-care using mindfulness meditation.

Target Audience

This in-person program is intended for nurses and interdisciplinary team members in all areas of oncology care.

Learning Objectives

  • Define mindfulness meditation and its benefits.

  • Explore strategies for self-compassion.

Criteria for Successful Completion

  • 1) Register for course

  • 3) Complete all educational content

  • 4) Complete/submit evaluation forms

Participants can receive 1.0 nursing contact hours. To receive credit, you must attend the program portion.

Mindfulness Meditation Facilitator and Oncology Nurse

Ben Garcia

Facilitator Ben Garcia, BSN, RN, blends his unique expertise as a mindfulness meditation facilitator and a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in oncology. Ben is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Facilitator who works with both healthcare professionals and patients to help individuals find deeper connection in daily life through mindfulness meditation. With years of experience in mindfulness and coaching, Ben helps individuals explore how mindfulness can enhance overall well-being. Ben teaches techniques for daily practice to improve self-care to build resilience.
